H1N1 a Scam for Drug Companies?

Despite the hype, and the billions of dollars given to drug companies to produce vaccines, the crisis that was to be H1N1 never appeared.

Dr Wodarg also said that drug companies convinced the World Health Organisation (WHO) to declare a pandemic in order to increase profits. The newspaper also reports that the Council of Europe will be holding an emergency debate on the issue before the end of January.

‘It’s just a normal kind of flu. It does not cause a tenth of deaths caused by the classic seasonal flu,’ Dr Wodarg told the Daily Star. ‘The campaign of panic provided a golden opportunity for representatives from labs who knew they would hit the jackpot in the case of a pandemic being declared.’

The British government, however, slammed Dr Wodarg’s comments on Thursday, saying that there were ‘no grounds whatsoever’ for his claims.

And what would be the response to these allegations? Not surprisingly, they stand by the very bureaucracy they created to get them rich in the first place:

A GlaxoSmithKline spokesman from the UK said: ‘Allegations of undue influence are misguided and unfounded. The WHO declared that H1N1 swine flu met the criteria for a pandemic. As WHO have stated, legal regulations and numerous safeguards are in place to manage possible conflicts of interest.’

Here: H1N1 is global scam: Expert.

More Evidence Against Cell Phones

Cell phones are killing us, and no one wants to realize it:

Modern society, needless to say, is in the grip of wireless technology. All you have to do to understand this is step outside your door. “It just so happens,” Frey had told me, “that the frequencies and modulations of our cell phones seem to be the frequencies that humans are particularly sensitive to. If we had looked into it a little more, if we had done the real science, we could have allocated spectrums that the body can’t feel. The public should know if they are taking a risk with cell phones. What we’re doing is a grand world experiment without informed consent.” As for Louis Slesin’s question—what will it take to change the paradigm?—Frey shook his head. “Until there are bodies in the streets,” he said, “I don’t think anything is going to change.”

This rather ungraphic advertisement was banned in Canada. The imagery in the video is not shocking graphically, but to those accustomed to the “fetus is not a child” mantra, reality can be kind of harsh, can’t it?

Persecuted German Homeschoolers Granted US Asylum

We’ve covered the hostile government treatment of homeschooling families in Germany a few times here, and today a judge has granted one of those families political asylum in the United States.

On Tuesday, in a first of its kind case, a federal immigration judge in Memphis, Tennessee granted political asylum to the Romeike family, who fled Germany in 2008 to escape persecution from the German government for the “crime” of homeschooling.

Judge Burman said in his decision that, “The rights being violated here are basic human rights that no country has a right to violate.”

Judge Burman also expressed concern that while Germany is a democratic country and an ally, its policy of persecuting homeschoolers is “repellent to everything we believe as Americans.”

The persecution of homeschoolers in Germany has been intensifying over the past several years. Such families are regularly fined thousands of dollars, threatened with imprisonment, or have the custody of their children taken away simply because they choose to home educate.

The Brutal Reality for Abortion Doctors

A mainstream piece on the reality of abortion:

Another study, published in the October 1989 issue of Social Science and Medicine noted that abortion providers were pained by encounters with the fetus regardless of how committed they were to abortion rights. It seems that no amount of ideological conviction can inoculate providers against negative emotional reactions to abortion.

Such studies are few. In general, abortion providers have censored their own emotional trauma out of concern to protect abortion rights. In 2008, however, abortionist Lisa Harris endeavored to begin “breaking the silence” in the pages of the journal Reproductive Health Matters. When she herself was 18 weeks pregnant, Dr. Harris performed a D&E abortion on an 18-week-old fetus. Harris felt her own child kick precisely at the moment that she ripped a fetal leg off with her forceps:

Instantly, tears were streaming from my eyes—without me—meaning my conscious brain—even being aware of what was going on. I felt as if my response had come entirely from my body, bypassing my usual cognitive processing completely. A message seemed to travel from my hand and my uterus to my tear ducts. It was an overwhelming feeling—a brutally visceral response—heartfelt and unmediated by my training or my feminist pro-choice politics. It was one of the more raw moments in my life.

We’ve mentioned the story of Lisa Harris previously. Then there is this shocking revelation from a doctor who changed sides:

Hern and Harris chose to stay in the abortion business; one of the first doctors to change his allegiance was Paul Jarrett, who quit after only 23 abortions. His turning point came in 1974, when he performed an abortion on a fetus at 14 weeks’ gestation: “As I brought out the rib cage, I looked and saw a tiny, beating heart,” he would recall. “And when I found the head of the baby, I looked squarely in the face of another human being—a human being that I just killed.”

The article is not for the faint of heart, but maybe should be recommended reading for those who are pro-choice: Mugged by Ultrasound.

Scientific Evidence for the Afterlife

This doctor raises some good points about the classic near death experience crossing cultural and age boundaries.

“I think if near-death experiences were culturally determined, then people that had never heard of near-death experiences would have a different experience,” Long argued. “But we’re not finding that. Whether you know or don’t know about near-death experiences at the time it happens, it has no effect on whether the experience happens or not, or what the content is.”

In his book, Long details nine lines of evidence that he says send a “consistent message of an afterlife.” Among them are crystal-clear recollections, heightened senses, reunions with deceased family members and long-lasting effects after the person is brought back to life.

Long noted that he was especially fascinated that very small children who have near-death experiences almost always recount the same stories as adults, even if the concept of death isn’t fully formed in their minds.

“My research involved experiences of young children age 5 and under, and I found the content of their near-death experiences is absolutely identical to older children and adults,” he told Vieira. “It suggests that whether you know about near-death experiences, what your cultural upbringing is, what your awareness of death is, it doesn’t seem to have any effect on the content of the near-death experience.”

And Rapini’s story is fascinating as well:

Rapini told Vieira she suffered an aneurysm while working out a gym and was rushed to the hospital. She was in an intensive care unit for three days when she took a turn for the worse.

“All of a sudden [doctors] were rushing around me and inserting things into me, and they called my husband,” she told Vieira.

“I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn’t a normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I kept looking at it like, ‘What is that?’ Then it grew large and I went into it.

“I went into this tunnel, and I came into this room that was just beautiful. God held me, he called me by name, and he told me, ‘Mary Jo, you can’t stay.’ And I wanted to stay. I protested. I said, ‘I can’t stay? Why not?’ And I started talking about all the reasons; I was a good wife, I was a good mother, I did 24-hour care with cancer patients.

“And he said, ‘Let me ask you one thing — have you ever loved another the way you’ve been loved here?’ And I said, ‘No, it’s impossible. I’m a human.’ And then he just held me and said, ‘You can do better.’ ”

True Respect for Creation is Pro-Life

After our post about James Cameron’s revenge on rednecks fantasy in his utopian movie Avatar this seems appropriate.

Someone who has respect for the natural environment would respect all biological life for what it is, created by God. Women turn off their menstrual cycles with hormone pills to not have babies, yet insist on eating organic food. They meticulously recycle every item yet allow birth control pill runoff to pollute streams and change the gender of aquatic animals. They avoid using pesticides on their lawn yet take a pill to induce a morning-after abortion. Today’s environmentalists want respect for animals, yet disrespect the natural biological differences between women and men. They believe that nature knows best but advocate gender reassignment surgery for teenagers.

Pope Benedict comments on what true environmentalism is:

“It follows that the protection of creation is not principally a response to an aesthetic need, but much more to a moral need, in as much as nature expresses a plan of love and truth which is prior to us and which comes from God.”
…
“If we wish to build true peace,” he said, “how can we separate, or even set at odds, the protection of the environment and the protection of human life, including the life of the unborn? It is in man’s respect for himself that his sense of responsibility for creation is shown.”

Citing St. Thomas Aquinas, the Holy Father said that “man represents all that is most noble in the universe.”

James Cameron's Stupitar

Another Take on 11:11

Maybe you’ve read about conspicuous occurrences of the number 11, especially when looking at a clock. Maybe you’ve also read that the solstice on December 21st, 2012, will occur at 11:11 UTC. (It is worth noting that the 11am hour at UTC/GMT is the only hour where the entire globe is on the same day. GMT -11 leads you into the middle of the pacific, where it is just after midnight. GMT +12 leads you to the time zone next door, the other side of the International Date Line where it is just after 11pm on the same day. This occurs at no other hour of the day.)

Here is Mark Mallet’s take on 11:11:

Is it just coincidence? Is there a “sign” involved? My first reaction was that it is just coincidence, that it is what it is, and that there is a even a danger to attempt to read something into numbers (ie. numerology). But then… I started to see this everywhere myself, sometimes 3-4 times a day. And so recently, I asked the Lord if this has any meaning. Immediately the “scales of justice” came into my mind’s eye with the understanding that 11:11 shows a balance, so to speak, of mercy vs. justice, but 1:11 shows a “tipping” of the scale, as does any triple number such as 3:33.

Something to think about. He goes on to add:

The sense I had with this image is that humanity as a whole is tipping the scales of justice through abortion, the promotion of alternative lifestyles to children, pornography, the abuse of creation, the misuse of “just war", the continued neglect of the poor in third world countries, sexual abuse and apostasy in the Church, etc. God, in His infinite mercy, has given humanity the better part of a century to change course—such was the warning at Fatima. But there seems little evidence that the world is heeding the warnings of Heaven as nations continue to open the door to abortion, condone “gay marriage", and even reject the mention of God and His relevance in society.

Abortion, Oral Contraceptives Increase Breast Cancer Risk

Don’t expect a report in the mainstream media, or a press release from the researchers who have discovered the link, but it’s apparently true:

An April 2009 study by Jessica Dolle et al. of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center examining the relationship between oral contraceptives (OCs) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive form of breast cancer associated with high mortality, in women under age 45, contained an admission from Dr. Brinton and her colleagues that abortion raises breast cancer risk by 40%.

The study found that “a statistically significant 40% increased risk for women who have abortions” exists, and that a ” 270% increased risk of triple negative breast cancer (an aggressive form of breast cancer associated with high mortality) among those who used oral contraceptives while under age 18 and a 320% increased risk of triple negative breast cancer among recent users (within 1-5 years) of oral contraceptives,” also exists.

This means that women who start using OCs before age 18 multiply their risk of TNBC by 3.7 times and recent users of OCs within the last one to five years multiply their risk by 4.2 times.

“Although the study was published nine months ago,” stated Karen Malec, president of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, in a press release, “the NCI, the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and other cancer fundraising businesses have made no efforts to reduce breast cancer rates by issuing nationwide warnings to women.”

Death of the West?

Maybe a rebirth after some death throes? The president of Human Life International gives his take:

The killing of 50 million unborn children a year and the moral degradation of the post-Christian west will naturally and necessarily lead to a global political and financial crisis even greater than that which is already happening, said the head of Human Life International (HLI), the world’s largest pro-life organization .

In a lengthy interview, Fr. Thomas Euteneuer spoke to LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) at the HLI office in Rome and said that he anticipates a disaster like the collapse of ancient civilizations, but on a global scale, as a result of abortion and the abandonment of Judeo-Christian values in the West. (Read the complete interview here)

“It’s happened in every society that has reached its pinnacle of civilization and then collapsed,” Fr. Euteneuer said.

“Look at Carthage, the Phoenician empire was much more powerful than Rome for a period of time. But Carthage had a religion that offered human sacrifice of babies. Eventually it degraded from within and collapsed on itself.”

“We’ve got a serious crisis on the horizon. I’m not a prophet of doom but I don’t see this going any other way but a serious political crisis that’s going to affect the globe,” he said.

NH Democrats Want Control Over Homeschoolers

The state of New Hampshire is considering adopting the strictest homeschooling regulations in the country.

“Members of the Democratic leadership are taking advantage of the system and attempting to slip through the most anti-homeschool legislation ever conceived in New Hampshire,” said Mike Donnelly, staff attorney for HSLDA.

The proposed amendment to H.B. 368 would require that every homeschooled student be tested every year, as well as undergo a yearly portfolio review. Home educated students’ test scores would also have to be sent to the New Hampshire Department of Education each year, and the DOE would be granted sweeping rule-making authority.

What makes one citizen feel the need to control the education and upbringing of another citizen’s children? But many progressives have pushed for greater state control in raising children, just for the sole reason of “opening their minds” and implanting “correct” values and beliefs.

The public school system, which currently provides a whole value system touching everything from sexuality and marriage, to war and social justice, is a violation of the establishment clause of the 1st amendment.

A Decade On

I would say that Mr. Buchanan is a pessimist, but he has some good points.

According to the International Monetary Fund, the United States began the century producing 32 percent of the world’s gross domestic product. We ended the decade producing 24 percent. No nation in modern history, save for the late Soviet Union, has seen so precipitous a decline in relative power in a single decade.

The United States began the century with a budget surplus. We ended with a deficit of 10 percent of gross domestic product, which will be repeated in 2010. Where the economy was at full employment in 2000, 10 percent of the labor force is out of work today and another 7 percent is underemployed or has given up looking for a job.

Between one-fourth and one-third of all U.S. manufacturing jobs have disappeared in 10 years, the fruits of a free-trade ideology that has proven anything but free for this country. Our future is being outsourced – to China.

While the median income of American families was stagnant, the national debt doubled.

The dollar lost half its value against the euro. Once the most self-sufficient republic in history, which produced 96 percent of all it consumed, the U.S.A. is almost as dependent on foreign nations today for manufactured goods, and the loans to pay for them, as we were in the early years of the republic.

What the British were to us then, China is today.

Human Rights Abuse in Sweden

First it was Germany, now Sweden, that seem to think children are the property of the state. Why is it that when the same human rights abuses decried in the USSR and China are perpetrated by western liberals it’s considered progress?

A Christian home schooling family could permanently lose custody of their only child simply because they home-school. Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) and the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) are joining forces as legal advisors to the family in order to persuade the Swedish government to return the seven-year-old child to his parents.

“Parents have the right and authority to make decisions regarding their children’s education without government interference,” said ADF Legal Counsel Roger Kiska, who is based in Europe. “This is about a socialist government trying to create a cookie-cutter child in its own image. Without help, the parents in these cases are really powerless since the system is so one sided.”

Swedish authorities forcibly removed Dominic Johansson from his parents, Christer and Annie Johansson, in June of last year from a plane they had boarded to move to Annie’s home country of India. The officials did not have a warrant nor have they charged the Johanssons with any crime. The officials seized the child because they believe home schooling is an inappropriate way to raise a child and insist the government should raise Dominic instead.

Human rights abuse, no other term for it. More here: Swedish Government Seizes Child from Home Schooling Family.

Will We All be Chipped?

You might think that you would always resist a microchip implant. But what if there were countless benefits to being chipped, and only hardship to not be chipped, and nearly everyone was doing it…would you say no then? What if you couldn’t drive, or buy groceries at your usual place, or shop online? And how would your children resist as their generation grows up? Some interesting commentary today:

From this point forward, microchips will become progressively smaller, less invasive, and easier to deploy. Thus, any realistic barrier to the wholesale “chipping” of Western citizens is not technological but cultural. It relies upon the visceral reaction against the prospect of being personally marked as one component in a massive human inventory.

Today we might strongly hold such beliefs, but sensibilities can, and probably will, change. How this remarkable attitudinal transformation is likely to occur is clear to anyone who has paid attention to privacy issues over the past quarter-century. There will be no 3 a.m. knock on the door by storm troopers come to force implants into our bodies. The process will be more subtle and cumulative, couched in the unassailable language of progress and social betterment, and mimicking many of the processes that have contributed to the expansion of closed-circuit television cameras and the corporate market in personal data.

A series of tried and tested strategies will be marshalled to familiarize citizens with the technology. These will be coupled with efforts to pressure tainted social groups and entice the remainder of the population into being chipped.

  • And they adored the dragon, which gave power to the beast: and they adored the beast, saying: Who is like to the beast? and who shall be able to fight with him? And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things, and blasphemies: and power was given to him to do two and forty months. And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation. And all that dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that shall lead into captivity, shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword, must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. And he executed all the power of the former beast in his sight; and he caused the earth, and them that dwell therein, to adore the first beast, whose wound to death was healed. And he did great signs, so that he made also fire to come down from heaven unto the earth in the sight of men. And he seduced them that dwell on the earth, for the signs, which were given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make the image of the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and lived. And it was given him to give life to the image of the beast, and that the image of the beast should speak; and should cause, that whosoever will not adore the image of the beast, should be slain.

And he shall make all, both little and great, rich and poor, freemen and bondmen, to have a character in their right hand, or on their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell, but he that hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

          --Thomas Jefferson

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.

          --John Adams

Corporatism is the marriage of Big Business with Big Government. Corporatism uses the force and weight of government to create giant monopolies, which strangle competition and freedom. Rules and regulations are enacted that make it impossible for "little" guys to compete. The trade laws of nations are pitted against each other, forcing free nations to sacrifice their own peace and security to accommodate the economies of totalitarian regimes. And, of course, Big Business is the recipient of gargantuan profits in the process.
