Hindenburg Omen: Inventor Flees Stock Market
From Forbes:
And he’s out. The blind mathematician behind the Hindenburg Omen (you remember, that’s the technical indicator that tells us a stock market crash is nigh) tells the Wall Street Journal he’s gotten out of stocks a little more than a week before September, when this crash is supposed to happen.
Jim Miekka, who developed the indicator more than a decade ago, says its “sort of like a funnel cloud. It doesn’t mean it’s going to crash, but it’s a high probability. You don’t get a tornado without a funnel cloud.”
The Hindenburg Omen, named after the airship that exploded as it was docking in New Jersey in 1937, has preceded every crash since 1987, but it has also popped up plenty of times without any subsequent market decline. It resurfaced in mid-August and became popular fodder for various trading oriented blogs. It was triggered by two important statistical events. One, NYSE highs and lows both exceeded 2.5% — stocks reaching 52-week highs were 2.9% of stocks traded at the Big Board, while stocks hitting 52-week lows were 2.6%. And two, a rising 10-week moving average for the NYSE compared to a negative indicator that shows market fluctuations (the McClellan Oscillator).
The trends had to be reconfirmed, and they were last week.

Methane Gas Leak on Gulf Floor, Million Times Greater than Normal
It really makes you wonder what is going to come of this:
BP has confirmed that there is an oil leak on the sea floor several miles away from the Deepwater Horizon’s damaged blowout preventer. The undisclosed specific location of the sub- sea leak is reported to be billowing oil and deadly methane gas.
There are concerns that this has been happening for quite some time, and that BP and the government have attempted to squelch reporting through a media blackout:
On May 5, 2010 BP confirmed that one of three initial leaks had been plugged. The second leak is the one millions of people have been watching through the BP live video feed. However, the third leak has been virtually ignored.
In the early stages of the 90 day-old disaster, oil industry expert Matt Simmons told NBC News that a major area of seepage was coming from an area about 7 miles from the well. Simmons called it the “elephant behind the mouse.”
Should the sea floor leak announced today be confirmed in same location as the one Simmons and Senator Nelson have reported, then BP and the government have been aware of it all along, further substantiating fears of an oil spill media blackout.
But there’s more.
The methane levels are reported to be a million times greater than normal, according to oceanographer John Kessler:
Preliminary results, he says, point to high concentrations of the gas. “Methane levels ranged from 10,000 to nearly 1 million times higher in some spots than normal concentration,” Kessler said.
Ramifications are multifold, Kessler said. He called the site a natural laboratory in which to better assess the effect of methane on global climate change. Naturally occurring methane seeps have been linked to rapid climate change. For instance, an event occurring 55 million years ago may have caused one of these spikes, scientists believe. So the Deepwater Horizon environmental disaster may, at least, help scientists better understand and perhaps predict methane effects on global temperatures.
This report’s original location is now showing it as removed (or perhaps unavailable due to Drudge Report traffic), but it is still around on Google’s cache: Oceanographer John Kessler analyzes methane levels from oil spill site.
And all of this brings to mind the alleged 1990 prophecy reported frequently on SpiritDaily.com, especially this part:
My greatest nemesis is science, even more so than the media. The science that alters life, the science which creates a counterfeit heaven, the science that toils with the womb and genes, the science that has filled the air with the power of the enemy, the science which creates chemical witchcraft and fouls the earth, the science which seeks to create life but cannot in actuality even sustain it, the science which has denied God.
It really makes you think of transhumanism, abortion, genetic engineering, and oil and chemical pollution driven by rampant consumerism. As Michael Brown says, for your discernment.
Global Politics and the New World Order
An interesting take on the “global political awakening” and its disturbing implications for those wishing to implement global governance and a new world order. From the piece:
Never in all of human history has mankind been so capable of achieving a true global political psycho-social awakening; nor has humanity ever been in such danger of being subjected to a truly global scientific totalitarianism, potentially more oppressive than any system known before, and without a doubt more technologically capable of imposing a permanent despotism upon humanity.

End of the Repulic?
From a GOP candidate in New York:
Chichester says, “Frederick Engels focused on social issues as the key to transforming society to the socialist model; he firmly held that religion, traditional marriage and family structure must be destroyed so as to bring about social conditions that would usher in socialism.”
According to Chichester, “These economic dislocations and disasters are the exploding assets of Western civilization. They are the by-products of social assaults, collateral damage in socialism’s unrelenting war on the family. Every major economic ill we have can be directly traced to social policies. The promotion of divorce, promiscuity, abortion, pornography are all heavy artillery shells aimed at creating disconnected, disaffected and malleable individuals with no moral anchor or foundation.”
“All of these policies", continues Chichester, “have enormous economic side effects as the individuals are severed from normal and natural social connections. Those policies that attack the family produce declining populations.
The American economic effects of abortion alone are estimated at over $50 trillion of lost GDP. Adam Smith noted that prosperity was associated with growing populations and poverty with declining populations. We must reverse these trends if we are to survive as a republic.”
And Chichester sees a philosophical war emerging as a result. “What I see at stake in these elections goes far beyond balancing of the federal budget, desirable as it is. What is at stake is whether or not we will still have our republican form of government by the time these troubles pass - whether or not our children will grow up truly free. I see this as a last stand against what is coming. I do not expect to go down to Washington and come away unscathed, or have a long comfortable career. I expect to go to the Alamo, to fight to retain the Constitution during what is to be the Second Civil War: A war against the idea that man has unalienable rights. A war between Socialists who see man as property of the state and those who see property as inextricably bound to individual liberty and creativity. A war between the violent sterility of Socialism and the creative prosperity of a Godly people protected by a Divinely inspired Constitution.”

Vaccines from Aborted Fetal Cells Correlate with Rising Autism Rates
From Lifesitenews.com:
“The temporal connection between the introduction of aborted fetal DNA and autism rises is found over decades and across continents,” Dr. Deisher told LifeSiteNews. “This temporal connection is more compelling than any mercury connection,” which, she said, had no temporal connection to rising rates of autism.
As the abstract of the study indicates, autism rates in the US and the UK began to increase around the same time that the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine switched from using animal cells to using human cells that had been derived from aborted fetuses.
The use of such cells means that the vaccine might contain residual human DNA fragments. Dr. Deisher told LSN that “short fragments of human DNA residuals in vaccines present two well-documented potential physiological dangers” and “the possibility for auto-immune reactions.” While the immune system recognizes the DNA as foreign, its similarity to an individual’s own DNA can cause the immune system to attack parts of the individual’s own body.
Another danger springs from the length of the DNA fragments. Residual DNA fragments consisting of less than 250 base pairs (bp) have been shown to have a higher probability of entering the nucleus of human cells. Once inside the nucleus, short DNA fragments can integrate with the genome of the cell. The probability of integration is 1 billion times greater with DNA from the same species than with DNA from another species, according to the abstract.

From Choice to Homicide
The story of an aborted child in Italy, left by doctors to die:
The mother, pregnant for the first time, had opted for an abortion after prenatal scans suggested that her baby was disabled.
However the infant survived the procedure, carried out on Saturday in the Rossano Calabria hospital, and was left by doctors to die.
He was discovered alive the following day – some 20 hours after the operation – by Father Antonio Martello, the hospital chaplain, who had gone to pray beside his body.
He found that the baby, wrapped in a sheet with his umbilical cord still attached, was moving and breathing.
The priest raised the alarm and doctors immediately arranged for the infant to be taken to a specialist neonatal unit at a neighbouring hospital where he died on Monday morning.
Italian police are investigating the case for “homicide” because infanticide is illegal in Italy.
Why was it okay to kill the child while extracting it from the mother, but not to kill it as it lives and breathes after the procedure failed? The only difference is location.

Decline of Empire
From cnbc.com:
In their expansionary phase, empires force people to go out, seek risks and fend for themselves, Murrin said, reminding of the dismantling of the British empire after the war, when the National Health Service, which ensures universal health coverage in Britain, was created.
“This (empire decline) is actually a dead-set course that societies get into and it will happen very quickly I’m afraid,” he told “Squawk Box Europe.”
“As you start to build a system it becomes cohesive because of its success… the fractures in the American system I think are more apparent than ever,” Murrin added.
China’s rise will be much faster than most people anticipate as the country’s military prowess increases, he said.
“We all know there’s going to be a change, the surprise will be the pace of that change,” Murrin said, noting that “all empires when they decline they underestimate their challengers.”
Humanity and the State
C.S. Lewis once wrote, “You cannot make men good by law, and without good men, you cannot have a good society.”
If you vote for higher taxes, and vote for a social safety net, you don’t have to do anything to help anyone, right? You can just look out for yourself. Unfortunately this only leads to a less-caring society and a monstrously corrupt government that ultimately will seek to abort and euthanize the less fortunate rather than actually spend money to help them.
Pope Benedict reminds everyone that it’s our responsibility as individuals to transform society, and not rely on the government to do it on our behalf:
Care for the poor and vulnerable is the concern of individuals, motivated by genuine charity, rather than the exclusive concern of the state, Pope Benedict XVI has said in a pair of addresses this weekend. In an address to a group of bishops from Uganda, the pope praised their efforts to defend the sacredness of human life and of the family, and urged them to help their flocks resist the “seductions” of materialism.
…
“There is no just order in the state,” he said, “that eliminates the service of charity.”He continued, “Whoever wants to eliminate charity is preparing to eliminate man.”
“Love of our neighbour cannot be delegated,” the pope said. “The State and politics, though with the necessary attention for welfare, cannot replace it.”
He reiterated a point made in his encyclical, “Deus caritas est,” saying, “Love will always be necessary, even in the most just society.” This, he said, “requires and will always require personal and volunteer commitment.”

Fragile America
From latimes.com:
Over the last three years, the complex system of the global economy flipped from boom to bust – all because a bunch of Americans started to default on their subprime mortgages, thereby blowing huge holes in the business models of thousands of highly leveraged financial institutions. The next phase of the current crisis may begin when the public begins to reassess the credibility of the radical monetary and fiscal steps that were taken in response.
It will probably fail whether or not the public wakes up to what really goes on in Washington.

Public School Spies on Kids at Home with WebCams
The public school system is watching you:
In a lawsuit filed in federal court, a school district in suburban Philadelphia has been accused of using a Webcam embedded in a school-issued laptop to covertly photograph a 15-year-old student in his home.
According to the boy’s parents, Michael and Holly Robbins — who filed the class-action suit against Lower Merion School District on behalf of their son, Blake, and other students whose privacy might have been violated in a similar fashion — the family discovered that the laptop could be used for remote spying three months ago. The suit states that on Nov. 11, Lindy Matsko, an assistant principal at Harriton High School, informed Blake that he “was engaged in improper behavior in his home, and cited as evidence a photograph from the Webcam embedded in [his] personal laptop issued by the School District.” (The complete text of the suit was posted online by The Philadelphia Inquirer.)
The suit adds that Ms. Matsko subsequently confirmed to the boy’s father that the district “in fact has the ability to remotely activate the Webcam … at any time it chose and to view and capture whatever images were in front of the Webcam.”
They said the feature was only to be used to see who had stolen a laptop. But…
…another student in the district claimed that some students had noticed the camera lights on their school-issued Apple laptops apparently turning on at random before the lawsuit was filed. According to the unnamed student:
Frequently, the green lights next to our iSight webcams will turn on. The school district claims that this is just a glitch. We are all doubting this now.
Unbelievable.

H1N1 a Scam for Drug Companies?
Despite the hype, and the billions of dollars given to drug companies to produce vaccines, the crisis that was to be H1N1 never appeared.
Dr Wodarg also said that drug companies convinced the World Health Organisation (WHO) to declare a pandemic in order to increase profits. The newspaper also reports that the Council of Europe will be holding an emergency debate on the issue before the end of January.
‘It’s just a normal kind of flu. It does not cause a tenth of deaths caused by the classic seasonal flu,’ Dr Wodarg told the Daily Star. ‘The campaign of panic provided a golden opportunity for representatives from labs who knew they would hit the jackpot in the case of a pandemic being declared.’
The British government, however, slammed Dr Wodarg’s comments on Thursday, saying that there were ‘no grounds whatsoever’ for his claims.
And what would be the response to these allegations? Not surprisingly, they stand by the very bureaucracy they created to get them rich in the first place:
A GlaxoSmithKline spokesman from the UK said: ‘Allegations of undue influence are misguided and unfounded. The WHO declared that H1N1 swine flu met the criteria for a pandemic. As WHO have stated, legal regulations and numerous safeguards are in place to manage possible conflicts of interest.’

More Evidence Against Cell Phones
Cell phones are killing us, and no one wants to realize it:
Modern society, needless to say, is in the grip of wireless technology. All you have to do to understand this is step outside your door. “It just so happens,” Frey had told me, “that the frequencies and modulations of our cell phones seem to be the frequencies that humans are particularly sensitive to. If we had looked into it a little more, if we had done the real science, we could have allocated spectrums that the body can’t feel. The public should know if they are taking a risk with cell phones. What we’re doing is a grand world experiment without informed consent.” As for Louis Slesin’s question—what will it take to change the paradigm?—Frey shook his head. “Until there are bodies in the streets,” he said, “I don’t think anything is going to change.”

Persecuted German Homeschoolers Granted US Asylum
We’ve covered the hostile government treatment of homeschooling families in Germany a few times here, and today a judge has granted one of those families political asylum in the United States.
On Tuesday, in a first of its kind case, a federal immigration judge in Memphis, Tennessee granted political asylum to the Romeike family, who fled Germany in 2008 to escape persecution from the German government for the “crime” of homeschooling.
Judge Burman said in his decision that, “The rights being violated here are basic human rights that no country has a right to violate.”
Judge Burman also expressed concern that while Germany is a democratic country and an ally, its policy of persecuting homeschoolers is “repellent to everything we believe as Americans.”
The persecution of homeschoolers in Germany has been intensifying over the past several years. Such families are regularly fined thousands of dollars, threatened with imprisonment, or have the custody of their children taken away simply because they choose to home educate.

The Brutal Reality for Abortion Doctors
A mainstream piece on the reality of abortion:
Another study, published in the October 1989 issue of Social Science and Medicine noted that abortion providers were pained by encounters with the fetus regardless of how committed they were to abortion rights. It seems that no amount of ideological conviction can inoculate providers against negative emotional reactions to abortion.
Such studies are few. In general, abortion providers have censored their own emotional trauma out of concern to protect abortion rights. In 2008, however, abortionist Lisa Harris endeavored to begin “breaking the silence” in the pages of the journal Reproductive Health Matters. When she herself was 18 weeks pregnant, Dr. Harris performed a D&E abortion on an 18-week-old fetus. Harris felt her own child kick precisely at the moment that she ripped a fetal leg off with her forceps:
Instantly, tears were streaming from my eyes—without me—meaning my conscious brain—even being aware of what was going on. I felt as if my response had come entirely from my body, bypassing my usual cognitive processing completely. A message seemed to travel from my hand and my uterus to my tear ducts. It was an overwhelming feeling—a brutally visceral response—heartfelt and unmediated by my training or my feminist pro-choice politics. It was one of the more raw moments in my life.
We’ve mentioned the story of Lisa Harris previously. Then there is this shocking revelation from a doctor who changed sides:
Hern and Harris chose to stay in the abortion business; one of the first doctors to change his allegiance was Paul Jarrett, who quit after only 23 abortions. His turning point came in 1974, when he performed an abortion on a fetus at 14 weeks’ gestation: “As I brought out the rib cage, I looked and saw a tiny, beating heart,” he would recall. “And when I found the head of the baby, I looked squarely in the face of another human being—a human being that I just killed.”
The article is not for the faint of heart, but maybe should be recommended reading for those who are pro-choice: Mugged by Ultrasound.
Scientific Evidence for the Afterlife
This doctor raises some good points about the classic near death experience crossing cultural and age boundaries.
“I think if near-death experiences were culturally determined, then people that had never heard of near-death experiences would have a different experience,” Long argued. “But we’re not finding that. Whether you know or don’t know about near-death experiences at the time it happens, it has no effect on whether the experience happens or not, or what the content is.”
In his book, Long details nine lines of evidence that he says send a “consistent message of an afterlife.” Among them are crystal-clear recollections, heightened senses, reunions with deceased family members and long-lasting effects after the person is brought back to life.
Long noted that he was especially fascinated that very small children who have near-death experiences almost always recount the same stories as adults, even if the concept of death isn’t fully formed in their minds.
“My research involved experiences of young children age 5 and under, and I found the content of their near-death experiences is absolutely identical to older children and adults,” he told Vieira. “It suggests that whether you know about near-death experiences, what your cultural upbringing is, what your awareness of death is, it doesn’t seem to have any effect on the content of the near-death experience.”
And Rapini’s story is fascinating as well:
Rapini told Vieira she suffered an aneurysm while working out a gym and was rushed to the hospital. She was in an intensive care unit for three days when she took a turn for the worse.
“All of a sudden [doctors] were rushing around me and inserting things into me, and they called my husband,” she told Vieira.
“I looked up and I saw this light; it wasn’t a normal light, it was different. It was luminescent. And it grew. I kept looking at it like, ‘What is that?’ Then it grew large and I went into it.
“I went into this tunnel, and I came into this room that was just beautiful. God held me, he called me by name, and he told me, ‘Mary Jo, you can’t stay.’ And I wanted to stay. I protested. I said, ‘I can’t stay? Why not?’ And I started talking about all the reasons; I was a good wife, I was a good mother, I did 24-hour care with cancer patients.
“And he said, ‘Let me ask you one thing — have you ever loved another the way you’ve been loved here?’ And I said, ‘No, it’s impossible. I’m a human.’ And then he just held me and said, ‘You can do better.’ ”
True Respect for Creation is Pro-Life
After our post about James Cameron’s revenge on rednecks fantasy in his utopian movie Avatar this seems appropriate.
Someone who has respect for the natural environment would respect all biological life for what it is, created by God. Women turn off their menstrual cycles with hormone pills to not have babies, yet insist on eating organic food. They meticulously recycle every item yet allow birth control pill runoff to pollute streams and change the gender of aquatic animals. They avoid using pesticides on their lawn yet take a pill to induce a morning-after abortion. Today’s environmentalists want respect for animals, yet disrespect the natural biological differences between women and men. They believe that nature knows best but advocate gender reassignment surgery for teenagers.
Pope Benedict comments on what true environmentalism is:
“It follows that the protection of creation is not principally a response to an aesthetic need, but much more to a moral need, in as much as nature expresses a plan of love and truth which is prior to us and which comes from God.”
…
“If we wish to build true peace,” he said, “how can we separate, or even set at odds, the protection of the environment and the protection of human life, including the life of the unborn? It is in man’s respect for himself that his sense of responsibility for creation is shown.”Citing St. Thomas Aquinas, the Holy Father said that “man represents all that is most noble in the universe.”
